SLOVO Russian Literature Festival 2012
SLOVO 2012 took place from 16-20 April 2012, and was once again a great success. We are grateful to everyone who made the week such an enjoyable and inspiring time. Most of all, we are indebted to our writers - Boris Akunin, Zakhar Prilepin, Alexander Kabakov, Irina Muravyova and Alex Dubas - for coming to London and very generously making the week what it was – reflective, informative, emotional and full of discovery and laughter.
It was an exciting opportunity to have Boris Akunin present the UK premiere of Spy, a thriller based on his best-selling novel. We are grateful to the producers of the film and Russia Channel for allowing us to show the film, and to Russian Standard Vodka who made this evening even more enjoyable.
During the day the writers and publishers presented their new books at the READ RUSSIA stand at the London Book Fair, which acted as a focal point for all those seeking to get involved in the vibrant Russian literary and publishing scene.
Amid the hustle and bustle of the London Book Fair, the shortlists of the Rossica Translation Prize and the Rossica Young Translators Award were announced to a captive audience.
