Evenings on a Farm Near Dikanka

Ensemble Productions, Znaniye Education Centre and Pushkin House are proud to present a performance  for children by the Moscow State Gogol Theatre of Nikolay Gogol’s masterpiece "Evenings on a Farm Near Dikanka". It is a fantasy about true love triumphing over evil, with miraculous changes, funny intrigues, khorovods (dance circles), kolyadki (seasonal songs), exciting music and dance. This is a show that is sure to delight both old and young!

 

The Moscow State Gogol Theatre was founded in 1925 and to this day remains one of the leading theatrical institutions in Moscow. During the course of the theatre's 85 year existence, hundreds of leading Soviet and Russian actors have graced its stage, performing in dozens of spectacular shows and plays. The cast includes Honoured Artists of Russia Alexander Bordukov, Anna Gulyarenko, Yanis Yakobson and Moscow Prize laureate Irina Vybornova among many other talented actors.


The performance will be in Russian with English surtitles.
