“A truly radical and liberating work” Time Out

Take one of the most extraordinary pieces of film-making and add the distinctive live sounds of In The Nursery, a Sheffield-based band, renowned for their unique live cinema events which provide modern electronic scores and live accompaniment to classic silent films.

Possibly the most innovative movie ever made, Man With a Movie Camera is a montage of Moscow life showing the people of the city at work and at play, and the machines that keep the city going.

Dziga Vertov’s ‘city symphony’ emerged as one of the most innovative and experimental films of the silent era. Stunning photography by Vertov’s brother Mikhail Kaufman depicts the pulse and energy of the city in the late 1920s, the people at work and play, and the machines that make the city tick. A landmark in avant-garde cinema.

In The Nursery’s new score utilises the latest music technology to create a syncopated and alluring soundtrack  that embraces the progressive film-making of director Vertov.
