RYTA 2012 submissions close
Academia Rossica is delighted to announce that we have received 183 entries for the 2012 Rossica Young Translators Award.This is an unprecedented number of submissions and we are especially pleased to have received translations from all over the world, including Europe, Russia and North America.
Due to an unprecedented number of entries (183 – more than 3 times more than last year!) Academia Rossica have decided to postpone the presentation of the Rossica Young Translators Award to allow the judges more time to consider all the entries. The winner will now be declared alongside the winner of the senior Rossica Prize for Translation at a special event in London on May 15th. Likewise, the shortlist will be formally announced alongside the Rossica Prize shortlist at the Read Russia stand at London Book Fair on Wednesday, 18 April, 11.00.
These announcements are just part of a series of events dedicated to translators and translation going on at our stand. We are really keen for young translators to meet more experienced translators, Russian authors and publishers, to help build up a translation community. We would, therefore, like to invite all RYTA entrants who can be there to come to the Read Russia stand at LBF on Wednesday, 18 April.
