SLOVA Russian bookshop at Waterstones Waterstones have announced the launch of a Russian bookshop in their flagship store in Piccadilly Circus. The SLOVA bookshop will give London’s vast Russian community and many Russophiles a fantastic opportunity to access thousands of Russian books in one centralised location. Academia Rossica are proud to announce their involvement and are pleased to working together with SLOVA, organising regular literary events at London's new Russian cultural hub. Whether it be literature or non-fiction, classical or contemporary, in English or Russian, MD James Daunt says SLOVA will be, “an irresistible literary and cultural destination” for all. The Russian-language titles stocked by Slova have been sourced directly from Russia with the assistance of Boris Kupriyanov, owner of Moscow’s Falanster, Falanster and Tciolkovskiy bookshops. Expert advice will be on offer in the store as SLOVA will have its own selection of Russian speaking staff to cater towards the wide selection of people who will be passing through the bookshop, from the keen enthusiast to what will surely be a new audience of readers who have had their interest sparked by the launch of this bookshop. Academia Rossica has always been at the forefront of promoting Russian literature and authors in the capital and will now be key to the organisation of events at SLOVA; providing readers with the opportunity to meet authors and engage with fellow interested individuals. |
