CINE FANTOM

Where Art Meets Film

Friday 16 September – Sunday 25 September 2011

Tate Modern is showcasing the work of the extraordinary Moscow film club CINE FANTOM, which is 25 years old this year.

From its beginnings in the cultural turmoil of perestroika and the Moscow conceptualist art scene, CINE FANTOM and its samizdat journal have brought together some of the most exciting and innovative filmmakers in Russia. Over the next week Tate Film will be screening some of the best works from the past quarter century and inviting the directors to talk about their films, including Gleb Aleinikov, Andrey Silvestrov and founder of Necrorealism Yevgeny Yufit.
