Aleksandr Sokurov in Conversation

In advance of the BFI Southbank's major two-part retrospective, renowned Russian director Aleksandr Sokurov will be talking about his career, which spans the dying days of Soviet rule to the present, and includes the masterful Mother and Son and Faust, which just premiered at this year's Venice Film Festival. A rare on-stage UK appearance for the acclaimed filmmaker, 'Sokurov in Conversation' is chaired by critic and academic Ian Christie, who writes widely on Russian cinema.
