Rules and Regulations
All entries must reach Howard Amos at Academia Rossica on or before Friday 10th April 2009. Entries received after this deadline will not be sent to the judges.
All candidates must be aged 24 or under on this day (10th April 2009) to be eligible to enter the competition.
All translations must be of one of the three texts available on the Academia Rossica website. Translations of any other works will not be considered. The permitted texts are:
- Дмитрий Быков, Списанные (extract)
- Ольга Славникова, 2017 (extract)
- Владимир Маканин, Асан (extract)
Entries may be submitted electronically (to howard@academia-rossica.org) or by post to:

Each entry must include:
- The translator's name.
- The translator's date of birth.
- The educational institution to which the translator is attached (if any).
Group translations are permitted. However, the name, date of birth and educational institution of every translator must be included with the submission.
The short-list will be announced on the 21st April at the London Book Fair and the overall winner on the 24th May 2009. The winning translator will receive £300 and his/her translation will be published in a special edition of Rossica.
