The acclaimed film of cold-war espionage and intrigue based on Sergei Kostin's book, Adieu Farewell, is out in UK cinemas now. Directed by Christian Carlon and featuring stellar performances from Emir Kusturica and Guillame Canet, this hugely entertaining thriller centres around a real life KGB affair, described by Ronald Reagan as 'one of the most important espionage cases of the 20th century'.  

In 1981, Colonel Grigoriev of the KGB (real name - Vladimir Vetrov), disenchanted with what the Communist ideal has become under Brezhnev, decides he is going to change the world… He makes contact with a French engineer working for Thomson in Moscow and little by little passes on secret documents to him - mainly classified information concerning the United States.
