DDT – 'Otherwise' album tour
Thursday 22 March, Hammersmith Apollo
One of Russia’s most successful and prolific rock groups, DDT, will be appearing in London for a highly anticipated one-off concert performance at the Hammersmith Apollo as part of their current ‘Otherwise’ world tour. The legendary group will be performing songs from their new album ‘Otherwise’ alongside a selection of their greatest hits.
Founded in 1980, DDT were at the forefront of the development of Russian rock throughout the 1980s. The band, led by charismatic frontman Yuri Shevchuk, battled official Soviet censors to become one of the most popular underground rock groups during the tumultuous years of perestroika and glasnost. DDT’s anthemic tunes, poetic, anti-establishment lyrics and powerful live performances struck a chord with a generation of young Russians. Since the collapse of the Soviet Union, DDT have released a string of albums, maintaining their huge commercial and critical success as their music continues to resonate with millions of fans.
