Marathon reading of Homer’s Iliad by 200 citizens enhanced by melodies of Daemonia Nymphe

In the context of the 2012 London Olympic Games, hundreds of World citizens will send a message for global peace and Olympic truce!

 

From 10am to 7pm, 200 readers of all ages and backgrounds, will participate in a marathon reading of Homer’s The Iliad, produced by international literary organisation The Readers of Homer, supported by Greek non-profit EllinikoTheatro.

At the same time, the Hellenic Centre will be hosting an exhibition of rare photographs from the archives of the Benaki and National Historical Museums of Athens depicting the very first Modern Olympic Games, held in Athens in 1896.
