The 4th SLOVO Festival has now come to an end! Thanks to everyone who came along and made the festival such a success!

With a fully-packed programme of 26 events in 21 days – from lectures to film screenings, poetry performances to presentations – it was a great opportunity to hear from some of the most interesting people of Russia. 

Nearly 2000 people came to SLOVO events! We were delighted and inspired by our audience’s enthusiasm and grateful to all for creating such a wonderful atmosphere. SLOVO festival was a true celebration of Russian literature! 

We were honoured to host evenings with the finest Russian authors such as Dmitry Bykov, Mikhail Shishkin and Vladimir Sharov, with rising stars Evgeny Vodolazkin, Vera Polozkova and Mikhail Segal, and with public intellectuals Lev Danilkin, Irina Yasina and Demyan Kudryavtsev.

The festival also included the prize giving ceremony of this year’s Rossica Young Translator’s Award, as well as a series of documentary film screenings and children’s events.

Many thanks to all who made this festival such a success! And, of course, our big thanks to SLOVO partners – Waterstones Piccadilly, MacDougall’s Arts, Mari Vanna, Russian Standard and the Princess Dashkova Russian Centre at the University of Edinburgh!
