I Am a Chechen

Win a copy of I Am a Chechen!

To celebrate the new classics of Russian literature, Academia Rossica is running a series of competitions, giving you the chance to win copies of 10 great new books published in English translation.

For our first competition, we want you to update your favorite Russian novel for the 21st Century. All you have to do is rewrite it in 25 words or less. The best three entries will win a copy of German Sadulaev’s powerful new novel, I Am A Chechen!

You can enter as many times as you like! No need to include the title. Let’s see if we can all guess what it is!

For more information on all the books we’re celebrating and to discuss the books yourselves, check out our Facebook page. Don’t forget to watch this space for more competitions coming up soon!

Here’s a couple to get you going!

‘Levin wants a better life, Levin gets a lovely wife. Anna thinks her man’s a pain, Anna gets a moving train.'

‘Man, 40s, non-smoker, steady government job, seeks fur-collared coat for long city walks, Gothic fun and existential satisfaction. Call Akaky.’
