PANEL OF JUDGES
Dr Philip Ross Bullock
Wadham College, Oxford
Philip Ross Bullock is University Lecturer in Russian at the University of Oxford and Fellow of Wadham College. His books include The Feminine in the Prose of Andrey Platonov (2005) and Rosa Newmarch in Late Nineteenth and Early Twentieth-Century England(2009), as well as articles on nineteenth and twentieth-century Russian literature and music. He has has recently edited and translated The Correspondence of Jean Sibelius and Rosa Newmarch, 1909-1939 (2011). With Rebecca Beasley, he has co-edited a special edition ofTranslation and Literature (‘Translating Russia, 1890-1935’), and they are currently completing Russia in Britain, 1888-1940: From Melodrama to Modernism for Oxford University Press.
Professor Pamela Davidson
UCL SSEES
Professor of Russian Literature at the School of Slavonic and East European Studies at UCL. Her considerable body of research has covered such topics as the reception of Dante in Russia, the life and poetry of Vyacheslav Ivanov, the twentieth-century renaissance of classical scholarship in Russia, and demons and prophets in Russian literature.
Professor Barbara Heldt
University of British Columbia, Vancouver
Barbara Heldt is Emeritus Professor in Slavonic languages and Women's Studies at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. Her books include: Koz'ma Prutkov: The Art of Parody; Terrible Perfection: Women and Russian Literature; and a translation of Karolina Pavlova's Dvoinaia Zhizn'. She has also written on Russian translations of Emily Dickinson, and on Pushkin, Gogol', Dostoevsky, Chekhov, Mariia Shkapskaia, Sasha Sokolov and Elena Shvarts.
