Mikhail Shishkin

Mikhail Shishkin is widely considered one of the greatest Russian writers today, and his unique style has led to comparisons with writers of revered classics. His works have been translated into more than 10 languages, and while he might have only written five novels so far, they have all received numerous literary prizes, including the Big Book Award, the National Bestseller Award and the Russian Booker Prize. This makes Shishkin the first writer to win all three of Russia’s major book awards. His first book translated into English, Maidenhair, was published to critical acclaim in November 2012, and his latest novel Letter Book will be published for English readers in March 2013.
