you are here: Academia Rossica presents» Literature» Rules and regulations Rules & Regulations (i) All entries must reach Rodrigo von Horn at ACADEMIA ROSSICA on or before Thursday, 1 April 2010. Entries received after this deadline will not be sent to the judges.
(ii) All candidates must be aged 24 or under on 1 April 2010 to be eligible to enter the competition. (iii) All translations must be of one of the three texts available in this brochure and on the ACADEMIA ROSSICA website. Translations of any other work will not be considered. The texts for the 2010 competition are: Leonid Yuzefovich, extract from "Журавли и карлики" Mikhail Shishkin, extract from "Письмовник" Viktor Pelevin, extract from "t" (iv) Entries may be submitted electronically to rodrigo@academia-rossica.org (v) Each entry must include: The translator's name. The translator's date of birth. The educational institution to which the translator is attached (if any). (vi) Group translations are permitted. However, the name, date of birth and educational institution of every translator must be included with the submission. (vii) The Winner will be announced on 21 April 2010 at the London Book Fair. The winning translator will receive £500 and the opportunity to travel to Moscow to take part in a Translators' Congress in September 2010. (viii) All short-listed translators will be invited to a special programme of events at the London Book Fair and introduced to writers and publishers. |
