6th RUSSIAN FILM FESTIVAL IN UK

The 6th Russian Film Festival took place on 2-11 November 2012, and showed that Russian cinema is as popular as ever in the UK. From the dazzling Opening Gala Screening of Boris Khlebnikov's Till Night Do Us Part, the films selected for the festival programme proved to be a hit with audiences, provoking a range of emotions as tales of satirical humour were contrasted with the harsh realities of everyday life in provincial Russia.

We were also thrilled to be joined by so many special guests, including Mikhail Segal, Maria Shalaeva, Alexander Proshkin, Vasily Sigarev and Yana Troyanova, who enlightened and entertained us with fascinating Q&A sessions and informative talks. The festival also included a number of special events such as a screening and discussion of Vitaly Mansky's Iconoscope at London Film School, a hugely successful afternoon tea talk with Avdotya Smirnova at Mari Vanna restaurant, and the second Russian-British Co-Production Forum at the ICA, which was attended by leading producers and filmmakers from both countries.

Thanks to everyone who came along to the festival and made it such a success. We look forward to seeing you at the 7th Russian Film Festival in 2013!
