synopsis

 

Milana lives with her mother and stepfather among the bushes on the banks of a small river. She is seven years old, and every day is a joy to her, no matter what. Milana is the story of what is left when people have lost everything — family and family values, good friends, job, property, home. Their language is a mixture of taboo words and obscene language. The film shows a profound degradation of social relations; however, despite its clear social context, it is foremost a story about a mother and daughter.
