Vitaly Mansky is known as Russia’s master of documentary films. With a career spanning over 30 films, Mansky has made numerous award-winning documentaries, including a trilogy about the three Russian presidents, Gorbachev, Yeltsin and Putin and Sunrise/Sunset, a portrait of the Dalai Lama. His works have been presented at more than 400 international film festivals. Vitaly Mansky has been was awarded with more than 50 awards and prizes in Russia and abroad including the “Silver Dove” of the Leipzig festival, the award for best direction (Locarno), the “Prize of Europe” diploma, and The National award of cinema critics and press “Beliy Slon” (“White Elephant”). Vitaly Mansky is the publisher of the oldest web-magazine on documental films “VERTOV.RU”, and the Author of the Reality Cinema Manifesto. He also founded the Artdokfest festival in independent films. Mansky’s latest film is Patria o Muerte which documents the state of Cuba today.
